Mr. William Samuel Johnson
November 1, 1950 — June 11, 2015
William Samuel Johnson was born on November 1, 1950 to Mamie Ruth Brinkley Johnson and Nathaniel Johnson in Longview, Texas. He was one of five children born to this union. He grew up in Longview, Texas.
He united with Bethel Baptist Church of Longview, Texas at an early age. William attended Southside Elementary, Maggie B. Hudson Junior High, Mary C. Womack High School and graduated Longview High School. Later, he attended Jarvis Christian College, Hawkins, Texas and Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas.
William Samuel Johnson made Houston, Texas his home for over forty years. He recently retired from the law firm of Allen Boone Humphries Robinson LLP as an administrative clerk after twenty years of employment.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Weldon N. Johnson, Jack T. Johnson, and Ricky L. Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory a sister, Patsy Ruth Johnson Benard (Lawrence) of Hewitt, Tx. and a loving aunt Mrs. Dolly marie Brinkley Johnson of Longview, Texas. He is further remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11am Jordan Valley Memorial Park.
Viewing will be immediately following service. Rev. H.C. Rockmore officiating.
