Services for Ms. Mattie Walker 74, will be 1pm Thurs. at Pleasant Green Baptist Church. Viewing will be Wed. 2pm-7:30pm at Citizens Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wyche Cemetery, Lakeport,Tx
Ms. Margaret Evelyn "Poochie" Walker was born on June 26, 1940 to the parentage of Edward and Doshia Walker. She attended Ned E. Williams High School in Longview, Texas. She was a graduate of the Class of 1960.
She united with the Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, where she remained a faithful member until her health failed.
Margaret (Poochie) babysat her nieces, nephews, cousins and others for many years.
"Poochie" was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sisters: Dorothy J. Mitchell of Odessa, Texas and Thelma (J.B.) Greenwood of Longview, Texas; one brother Roy (Mary) Walker of Longview, Texas; one aunt, Loama Walker of Garland, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved her and will miss her.
