Mrs. Doris Lee Gray

Services for Doris Gray will be 11am Thursday,December 18,2014 at Parkview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Grable Cemetery.

Doris Lee Gray was born to Middie Wright Johnson and Curtis Johnson in Hallsville,
Texas, She was the seventh of fourteen chlldren, She attended Johnson School in
Hallsville. At an early age, she united with Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. Later she united
with Parkview Baptist Church. She was a member of several gospel groups at an early
age. She would travel and sing solo throughout East Texas, most requested song
"Trouble in My Ways." She was a devoted member of Mission Two at Parkview Baptist
Church.
Doris Gray was married to the late Argusta (Gus) Gray. She leaves to cherish her
memory:Charlie Reddy,Janice (Ricky) Shaw, Marle Gray, and Argusta Upshaw.
Grandchildren:Fred Thompson), Shiketa Thurmond,LaShuna Reddy, and Ricky Shaw.
Great-Grandchildren: Mercedes, Fredrick, Jasmine, Kattie, Eric, Kia, and. Tage.
Sibllngs: Richard Johnson and Katherine Landrum of Los Angeles, California. 11 preceded her in
death Lena Crayton,Curtis Johnson Jr., Velma Hewitt, Nova Ward, Felton Johnson, Effie
Jones, Evie Johnson, Lawrence Johnson ,George Johnson, Leonard Johnson, and baby
Johnson; a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, her church family and friends.
